Group classes

In 2021, I began collaborating with Mr. Lee from the UK to develop a chess program called "The Incredible Chess" for children aged 5 to 14 in England. Our classes focus on building the confidence of the kids and helping them progress in their skills. Mr. Lee shares the same love and care for the kids and their progress. While I handle the coaching, Mr. Lee keeps parents updated on their children's progress. If you are booking a class and learned about me through Mr. Lee (LanguageBaba), please mention that.

Bishop course

The Bishop course is for students who have mastered the basics of playing and are interested in learning how to spot and exploit their opponent’s mistakes (and avoid making these mistakes as well). Students who do this course will learn some basic patterns that often appear in chess games and how to use these patterns to find tactics to win material.

Queen course

The queen course focuses on improving the positional understanding of students by learning about what makes pieces strong versus what makes pieces weak, when to exchange pieces and when to keep pieces on the board. Students will also learn more about playing with pawns and how to use pawn majorities, pawn minorities and pawn chains to their advantage. The concept of space is also taught and how to utilise it. Students also learn about two of the greatest players of the past: Capablanca and Alekhine and keep their tactics fresh by solving some checkmates in two and three moves.

The Knight course is for students who have started playing chess casually and want  to take their chess to the next level. Students will start to learn how to protect their own pieces and how to attack and capture their opponent’s pieces safely. Finally, they will learn some general guidelines for how to play the opening phase of the game and two ways of checkmating and winning their games.

King course

The king course is the final course in the series and introduces more advanced tactical patterns such as the Greek gift and double bishop sacrifice. There is also a strong emphasis on positional play with students learning the value of prophylactic thinking in chess. Some important theoretical rook endgame positions are also taught. Finally, the king course also demonstrates how to analyse your own games and provides a process for self-improvement and how to study chess on your own.
